In the age of Web 2.0 the internet as a platform to provide services or sell goods gained more attention in companies. Especially for customer support customer forums can be a useful tool for companies. By providing customer forums, companies can reduce their support costs dramatically. Nevertheless, it is often difficult for companies to measure the success of customer forums. In the research literature the determinants of success of customer forums have seldom been studied. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to fill this research gap by applying the model of Lin and Lee to measure the success of online-communities on customer forums. In addition, metrics for measuring the success of this model are discussed. The discussion of this topic leads to the conclusion that the model of Lin and Lee is mostly applicable for customer forums, and provides a useful approach to measuring suc-cess both in theory and in practice. This could be demonstrated by the example of the 1&1 customer forum. The metrics that were found in the theoretical part were quite relevant in practice. Nevertheless, future research should focus more on monetary indicators to also make success of customer forums financially assessable.
This examination broaches the issue of an investigation that is supported by the eye-tracking technologie and uses the e-learn-system Compass. For this investigation, there was carried out an experiment to test participants if they recognize agreement errors in the subjekt-verb- congruence in german sentences. The idea for that came from an other survey, that was hold for the englisch language. The integration of the e-learn-system Compass intended the observation of the participants learning behaviour. The experiment was able to be evaluated and analysed by the software of the eye-tracker, that recorded all eye movements and created valuable data out of them. It was assumed to catch the participants eye movements such as fixations or regressions.
The result was very clear: errors in congruence betweet subject and verb were done often. Besides, the error-rate increases proportionally to the length of the sentence.
Customization is a phenomenon which was introduced quite early in information systems literature. As the need for customized information technology is rising, different types of customization have emerged. In this study, customization processes in information systems are analyzed from a perspective based on the concept of open innovation. The objective is to identify how customization of information systems can be performed in an open innovation context. The concept of open innovation distinguishes three processes: Outside-in process, inside-out process and coupled process. After categorizing the selected journals into three core processes, the findings of this analysis indicated that there is a major concentration on outside-in processes. Further research on customization in coupled and inside-out processes is recommended. In addition, the establishment of an extensive up-to-date definition of customization in information systems is suggested.
Manche
Merkmale der Simulation vertieften bei einzelnen Probanden das immersive
Erleben, bei anderen dagegen nicht. Die Bedeutung der Ergebnisse
und Optimierungsmöglichkeiten für künftige Studien werden diskutiert.
In the last few years, information technology experienced a great increase. People and Enterprises are able to exchange information through the development of the Web 2.0 to the Social Web. Social Networks like Facebook or Xing, blogs from known and unknown people or the many discussion forums are common platforms where people have the opportunity to share and exchange information. Enterprises and people have to accept this fact and development. The reputation is also influenced by the overabundance of information. The result of this development is the digital reputation, which extend the entire reputation. Everyone who is looking for an order or a job can assume that his orrnher name will be "googled", whether he or she is a part of an internet branch or not. Every information is available through search engines. Just a quick look at the Facebook or Xing profile is needed to get a brief impression of someone. The communications expert Klaus Eck said that someone who takes the internet seriously will get a benefit for the development of his digital reputation. This research work will show you through a self made questionnaire what is seen as positive and negative influences on the reputation in Social Networks and how the digital reputation impacts the entire reputation.
This thesis deals with the question of which success factors apply to social media marketing. German start-up companies are examined for this purpose. The investigation is based on ten semi-structured expert interviews, which are evaluated using a qualitative content analysis. The results show that there are many success factors and that companies proceed differently in many areas when implementing social media marketing measures. Important success factors are a tailor-made, company-specific social media strategy with a clear formulation of goals, integration of social media marketing into the corporate strategy, openness to new social media trends, credibility and reputation, compliance with data protection, the correct handling of criticism, use of social media as a market research tool and a long-term social media strategy. However, the significance of the results should not be overestimated, since this is a qualitative study with a limited range and only examines individual cases. Further research on the success factors could be based on quantitative studies or group discussions in which experts or users or customers are interviewed. Another possibility is the qualitative examination of the user-generated content.
The present work starts with an introduction of methods for three-dimensional curve skeletonization. Different kinds of historic and recent skeletonization approaches are analysed in detail. Later on, a state-of-the-art skeletonization algorithm is introduced. This algorithm deals as a basis for the own approach presented subsequently. After the description and definition of a new method improving the state-of-the-art algorithm, experiments are conducted to get appraisable results. Next, a ground truth is described which has been set up manually by humans. The human similarity evaluations are compared with the results of the automatic computer-based similarity measures provided by the own approach. For this comparison, standard evaluation criteria from the field of information retrieval have been used.
In no other field of computer science has the hardware been evolved more
quickly than in computer graphics. Therefore the GPU offers, aside from
the pure rendering of triangles, a bunch of further pipeline steps that allows
visualisation of other graphics objects, like freeform surfaces.
This bachelor’s thesis is about the rendering of freeform surfaces, in particular
bezier surfaces. For that reason an implementation for management
and visualisation of bézier surfaces was created for the rendering framework
of the university Koblenz (CVK). For this purpose first a triangulation
was implemented and finally a tesselation of bezier surfaces with normals
and texture coordinates, as well as the handling of trim curves.
The animation of models has become an important part in different areas of everyday life. It is a demanding task for computer graphics to generate
a natural deformation of organic models. Skinning is a common method to animate models without animating each vertex individually. The skin of the model deforms automatically by manipulating individual bones of a skeleton.
This bachelor thesis deals with the most common algorithm, linear blend skinning and aims to find some optimizations regarding the visual effect
and performance. Additionally it presents certain instancing methods which are combined with the skinning methods in the application to show the advantages and disadvantages of the latter.
New techniques concerning the automatic identification of objects (Auto-ID) show unique potential for being used in the economy. This paper focuses on the technology of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and examines its uses and potentials regarding selected economic sectors. In the course of this paper, RFID will be directly compared to the bar code, the currently most prevalent system for object identification in the economy. To this end, the different basic modes of operation of both technologies will be introduced, and differences between their technical realizations will be brought to light. Moreover, this paper distinguishes and evaluates both technologies with regards to their potential use in three different branches of industry. Their differentiation provides the basis for determining and evaluating the RFID technology- probability of replacing the bar code in the consumer goods sector, the logistic sector, and the pharmaceutic sector.
In this bachelor thesis a system for the simulation of the movements of molecules is developed. The calculation of the forces between chemically bonded atoms as well as intermolecular forces is done almost entirely on the GPU. The visualization of the simulation happens at an interactive framerate. To achieve rendering in realtime on off-the-shelf graphics cards, apt optimizations and slight abstractions of the underlying physical models are needed. One can control the execution speed or completely stop the simulation at any given moment. Some of the parameters of the underlying physical models of the simulation can be modified at runtime. With the right settings for the parameters, some phenomena of molecular dynamics can be observed, for example the spacial structure of the molecules.
Due to the increasing pervasiveness of the mobile web, it is possible to send and receive mails with mobile devices. Content of digital communication should be encrypted to prevent eavesdropping and manipulation. Corresponding procedures use cryptographic keys, which have to be exchange previously. It has to be ensured, that a cryptographic key really belongs to the person, who it is supposedly assigned to. Within the scope of this thesis a concept for a smartphone application to exchange cryptographic keys was designed. The concept consists of a specification of a component-based framework, which can be used to securely exchange data in general. This framework was extended and used as the basis for a smartphone application. The application allows creating, managing and exchanging cryptographic keys. The Near Field Communication is used for the exchange. Implemented security measures prevent eavesdropping and specific manipulation. In the future the concept and the application can be extended and adjusted to be used in other contexts.

interessant.
The goal of this bachelor thesis was to add an image processing step to the music recognition software AudiVeris, in order to extract data even from faulty music sheet images. The procedure starts with a binarization using a regional version of Otsu's method. Following this the music sheet is searched for possible bendings, similar to those a hardcover book would cause. To achieve this the Hough transform is used for line detection and the k-means algorithm for cluster detection. Thereafter the music image is straightened using the discovered curvature.
The aim of this thesis is to provide the information that is needed to build a correct data history in a Business Intelligence System. Thereby the phenomena of "Slowly Changing Dimensions" is emphasised. At first a definition of business intelligence is provided which includes the ETL-process, data warehousing, and on-line analytic processing. Furthermore data mining, reporting, dashboards an BI-portals can be considered as a part of the BI-process. It is possible to represent slowly changing dimensions in a database management system. This is modelled in the ETL-process. The data is transformed in a certain way, before being loaded into the data warehouse. Type 1 SCD represents a simple update of the current dimension entry. Type 2 SCD provides a history of the data. It saves all the intermediate states of it. Thus, a user can track all states that changed during a certain time. Type 2 SCD is the one which is mostly used. Type 3 SCD provides just the original and the actual state. Aside from this three types there are existing some hybrid and extended versions.
For definite isolation and classification of important features in 3D multi-attribute volume data, multidimensional transfer functions are inalienable. Yet, when using multiple dimensions, the comprehension of the data and the interaction with it become a challenge. That- because neither the control of the versatile input parameters nor the visualization in a higher dimensional space are straightforward.
The goal of this thesis is the implementation of a transfer function editor which supports the creation of a multidimensional transfer function. Therefore different visualization and interaction techniques, like Parallel Coordinates, are used. Furthermore it will be possible to choose and combine the used dimensions interactively and the rendered volume will be adapted to the user interaction in real time.
